There are a lot of really fun things to do with your children all year long in beautiful Houston, Texas. For children aged five and older, there is the Alkek Velodrome. It’s a very interesting innovative facility for all the sporting enthusiasts in the family. It’s an race track for cyclists, designed for very high speeds. There are classes for every level, and it’s a place the entire family can enjoy. Located only a few miles from downtown Houston, is Brazos Bend State Park. There are six beautiful lakes located at this park, with fishing for the public. It’s a nature wonder, and many beautiful animals can been seen on this state park. A wonderful free park, with beautiful scenery and wonderful picnic facilities, can be found at Clear Lake Park. It’s located in between Galveston and Houston. For fun and sun in the water, you may want to discover, Splash Town. It’s a favorite destination for residents and visitors of Houston. It has a huge water slide, and is located on over 53 acres. On this hot summer days, this may be the perfect place to stay cool in the over 500 thousand gallon splash pool. It is home to largest type pool in the Southwest. After a day of having fun with the kids in Houston, perhaps a great children friendly eatery may be a great way to end the outing. The place the garners the most ‘best hamburger awards’ in Houston is, Beck’s Prime on Augusta. On sunny days, you may want to enjoy your burgers and fries on the beautiful wooden deck. For comfort foods and arcade games you may want to head on over to, Clay’s Restaurant, it comes highly recommended by many locals and visitors. Don’t forget the sandbox, and petting zoo, on your way in or out.

Lower Cost of Living: Texas is known for having a lot of affordable housing, so much so you won’t have to worry about having enough leftover for ADT Security in Los Angeles alarm or furniture is all said and done.
Better Eats: This one’s debatable but whether you like sushi or not you have to admit there’s a lot of good eats here in Texas. Barbeque and beef are both crowd pleasers and they’re plentiful here – the kids are going to love eating food in this part of the world.
Great Schools: Don’t get us wrong, we’re not knocking California schools but Houston’s are some of the best in the country. Your kids will love the diversity and the great teachers that abound here – Texas is a wonderful place to grow up.

The key to living a long, happy life is to live a healthy one. Houston, Texas is none for being one of the cities that has the highest obesity rate. Obesity is a serious health threat, but fortunately it can be remedied with exercise and proper diet.

Bringing up a child in Houston, Texas can prove to be very challenging. Not only does Houston have one of the highest crime rates in America, but they also have one of the highest obesity rates. Fortunately, there are many things that parents can do to keep their children safe and healthy. Parents need to educate their children about the importance of staying safe very early in life. Children need to be taught not talk to strangers and who to talk to if someone hurts them. Children who are taught about safety will know what to do if they are a victim of a crime later down the road.

Parents also need to make sure that their children are taught good health habits early in life. Children should be encouraged to make healthy food choices. They should also be encouraged to go outside and play with their friends. Children who are active are very likely to become active adults.

The high rate of crime and obesity make raising a child in Texas very difficult. Fortunately, parents can keep their children safe and healthy by educating them at a young age. Children who grow up healthy and happy will grow into well-adjusted adults.

Finding something to keep your children occupied in Houston, Texas is as simple as deciding what everyone likes.

If you-re interested in filling your kid-s heads with knowledge take them down to one of the many museums and centers for learning. You can head out to The Children-s Museum of Houston, the Holocaust Museum, Houston Museum of Natural Science, The Health Museum and many more. For a little educational fun in the sun you can head to The Houston Zoo, one of the nation-s leading zoos.

The Oil Ranch or Dewberry Farm offer children and parents a chance to find out what it-s like to work on real farms. They can meet various farm and ranch animals; learn where our food comes from and even what these places were like 100 years ago.

For some light hearted fun head down to ComedySportz Houston. This is an improv comedy stage where you can either be on the team or sit in the audience and help choose the winner. The rule of the day is keep it clean, no potty mouth allowed.

Whether you-re simply headed to Houston for the day or a native with kids there is always plenty to keep your children occupied, no matter what their interests are.

Houston, Texas can be accurately described as one of the more “child friendly’ cities in the US. There is a wealth of attractions for family activities. These range from the Houston Children-s Museum to local parks and activity centers. There is no reason for a child to be bored in Houston.

Major attractions in Houston include four water parks, four rodeo facilities, the San Jacinto Battlefield, and the Battleship Texas. This does not include a number of special events such as the Art Car Parade and weekend expos at local shopping malls. There are beaches at Galveston, Texas City and The Kemah Boardwalk.Didn-t catch that? This explains it.

Day to day places for your children to play are just down the street in any Houston neighborhood. The city of Houston has over 350 parks, most with swimming pools and playground equipment. In the unincorporated county there are almost as many parks. These are also equipped with playground equipment, swimming pools, athletic fields and picnic areas. Biking trails are common in both the city and the county. The local neighborhoods are also park and playground heavy due to the investment of the homeowner-s associations. Children-s sports include Little League, Junior Soccer Leagues, and Pee Wee football.
